POW / POWER

Calculates the value of the specified number raised to a given exponent

Syntax

=POW(base, exponent)

=POWER(base, exponent)

Arguments

Argument	Type	Description
base	Number	The base to be raised to the exponent power
exponent	Number	The exponent

Examples

=POW(3.14159, 3)→31.006276680299816
Raises the value 3.14159 to the 3rd power

=POW(3.14159, 2)→9.869604401089358
Raises the value 3.14159 to the 2nd power

=POWER(-2.718, 0)→1
Raises the value -2.718 to the 0th power

=POW(4, 0.5)→2
Raises the value 4 to the 0.5 power

=POW(4, -0.5)→0.5
Raises the value 4 to the -0.5 power
